Aldercroft Heights Water District activty?

I live in Aldercroft Heights and am most concerned about our water source being compromised due to the logging.

I received a note with my last water bill about the Sept 12 meeting but didn't hear the water disrict personnel make any public comments on what the district can/is/will do? To me, the fact that our water stands a chance of being contaminated and/or silted up is one of the most pressing concerns about this whole project (in addition to my concern for the forest, roads, noise, schools, etc).

Can anyone comment on what the Aldercroft Heights Water District is doing as an entity with regard to this proposed logging project?

Thanks,

Catherine

Aldercroft Heights Water Concerns

Aldercroft Heights' water board is very concerned about the logging plan. Board members attended the Sept. 11 meeting and due to how affected the A.H. water source is to the plan, they have sent the required documentation in response to the NTMP intent posting.

Residents should contact their water board members to receive details.

I called Water Board this morning

I called the Water District office this morning. I asked what the position of the district is vis a vis the Plan. I was told that they have requested a copy of the plan and are waiting to receive it. I was told that the District is very small and has limited resources to look into the possible effects before the plan is made public. I was not told that any documentation other than the request for a copy of the plan has been provided.

To be honest, I wasn't satisfied with the response I received.

The next water board meeting is October 6 at 6:30pm in the 'Clubhouse' at Lexington School.

Aldercroft Heights Water Board Activity

Catherine,

I am of the understanding that the Aldercroft Hts. Water Board has sent back a response to the NTMP intent posting. You might want to call them back one more time and ask what specifically they have done in response to the published intent.

That's different than asking what is their position. The board can't publicly take a position, so you are not likely to hear if they have one. However, they can let their customers know what they've done to register their concern for the A.H. water source given the letter and maps they received at the time the NTMP intent appeared in the newspaper.

I'd call again if I were you - and ask again.
